As we have known, the mathematical realistic emphasizing to construction of the context of concrete objects as a starting point for the students to get mathematical concepts. Concrete objects and environment objects can be employed as a context for learning mathematics to making connections with social interaction. The teacher’s effort to get ideas about concrete objects and environment objects can be executed using VTR. Through the VTR is the teachers will be able to learn how to:
1. Make the preparation of the process teaching learning mathematics (PBM) in junior high school appropriate with the principles of PMRI.
2. Develop the sources of study to process of teaching learning of mathematics in junior high school appropriate with the principle of PMRI.
3. Develop the assesment activities to process of learning mathematics (PBM) in junior high school appropriate with the principles of PMRI.
4. Implement the process of teaching learning of mathematics (PBM) in junior high school appropriate with the principles of PMRI.
A model of learning mathematics that has been recorded in the VTR certainly has its advantages and has its disadvantages. So the teachers can discuss it to get the new knowledge by comparing with his experiences. As follows some weakness of VTR, that is the limited point of view, not all aspects can be recorded, image quality, the moment of image capture that are not appropriate. Additionally, employe the VTR in the learning mathematics with a realistic approach can provide the following benefits, that is:
1. The teachers have a opportunity to test the concrete objects and enviorenment objects can be employed as a context for learning mathematics in building mathematical connections trough social interaction.
2. The teachers have a opportunity to explore and reflect in learning math concepts realistic.
3. The teachers have a opportunity to exchange experiences with other teachers about the development of realistic mathematical learning.
4. The teachers have a opportunity to reflect on the preparation of teaching and learning process mathematics (PBM) in junior high school appropriate with the principles PMRI.
5. The teachers have a opportunity to reflect on the development of learning resources for teaching and learning mathematics process (PBM) in junior high school appropriate with the principles of PMRI.
6. The teachers have a opportunity to reflect on development activities for process assessment.
